REGISTERED NURSING (RN) PROGRAM: The Pre-Licensure (PL) Associate Degree Registered Nursing (RN) program, approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) in 2019, admitted its first cohort in 2020.  The program offers 62 semester units of general education and nursing core courses in four semesters.  Graduates of the program are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN® licensing examination to become RNs. The following required courses include those with laboratory or clinical component indicated with asterisks (*).

Third Semester: 17 units

Medical Surgical Nursing I: 5 units*
Obstetrics Nursing: 4 units*
Pediatrics Nursing: 4 units*
Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing: 4 units*

Fourth Semester: 15 units

Medical Surgical Nursing II: 5 units*
Medical Surgical Nursing III: 5 units*
Nursing Leadership: 5 units*


VOCATIONAL NURSING (VN) PROGRAM:  The Vocational Nursing (VN) program, approved in 2005 by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) as a certificate program, is eleven months long; and qualifies graduates to take the NCLEX-PN® licensing examination to become Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN).  Required courses include Fundamentals of Nursing; Anatomy & Physiology; Nutrition; Pharmacological Nursing; Human Development; Gerontology Nursing; Mental Health Nursing; Medical Surgical Nursing; Maternity Nursing; Pediatrics Nursing; and Nursing Leadership.

INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS for theory and clinical practice for both programs are up to 40 per week. Classes and skills practice in the lab are held at the school building. Clinical practice is in acute and subacute health care facilities, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in Stockton, Lodi and French Camp.
